So you have the basics down. You know how to buy, send, and receive Litecoin. Congrats! But now you're ready for the more advanced features of your Litewallet app. As Litewallet continues to grow more and more features will be coming to your favorite Litecoin wallet. Let's quickly review what cool advanced features Litewallet already has to offer.
Syncing
There are advanced syncing options within your Litewallet app. You can run a manual sync to ensure you have downloaded all the Litecoin data. This helps with displaying all transactions and even transactions that were not properly initiated. Sometimes, users are unable to send using Litewallet. users stress that their Litecoin has been lost. But this is a misunderstanding. As long as they have their 12 words, their Litecoin is safe. They can check the destination address at a blockchain explorer. Just enter the address here https://blockchair.com/litecoin and if it is valid, you can send using Litewallet.
The coins might not appear because you are not fully synced with the Litecoin blockchain. Your specific Litewallet app needs to be fully synced to the LTC Blockchain for optimal wallet activity. After running a manual sync, you will be completely synced up and any Litecoin you have will be displayed in your wallet. To run a manual sync pleases do the following: Menu (hamburger symbol, upper right-hand corner) >Settings > Manage> Sync Blockchain> Start Sync. This may take a bit of time. The good news is that once you are fully synced up to the LTC blockchain, the next time you open the app, the time required to sync up will be reduced.
Network/Service Fees
When sending Litecoin, you may have noticed a Network Fee. The app automatically selects one of the three options that you have. It chooses, Regular. The options are Regular, Economy, and Luxury. Economy has the lowest fee (slowest speed), Regular Fee (average speed), and Luxury has the highest fee (fastest speed). You select the fee that you would like depending on how fast you want the transaction. After you input the amount of LTC that you would like to send, there is a little edit button with the image of a pencil/paper. This is how you can select the Network Fee. Network fees get a bit more complicated with mining and the mempool but for the purpose of sending Litecoin you basically pay more for faster transaction confirmations.
Litewallet does have a service fee in order to pay for the maintenance of the app/wallet and to develop new exciting features. The fees are on a sliding scale (more fees, the higher the amount) and there are low fees on the smallest amounts. Make sure to understand these in order to get the most of out Litewallet.
Nodes
Litecoin has pre-selected a node that helps Litewallet sync up with the Litecoin Blockchain. The more often you open your Litewallet app, the quicker you will be able to sync up with the Node and the Litecoin blockchain. Syncing up helps reveal all of your transactions and any coins that are attached to your private key. If you are a more advanced Litecoin user and want to sync up to your own Node, you can! Go to: Menu>Settings>Advanced Settings>Litecoin Nodes>Switch to Manual Mode. From there, you can enter your IP address so sync up to your own node if you desire. Pretty cool. Advanced users may like this option as it can reduce the time needed to sync up to the Litecoin Blockchain.
