Hello,
We hope you are enjoying Litewallet and thank you for using it. We strive to make it the best wallet possible. One thing I'd like to discuss today is backing up your Litewallet. We never want you to lose access to your funds and want to promote the best fail-safe system as we can. Here are some things to consider.
Writing Down Your Seed Words
When downloading Litewallet for the first time you will be taken through the steps to write down your 12 seed words. Also known as your Paper Key. Don't skip this step. Please write them down with neat handwriting and label each word with a number. This will help with organization. Best practice would be to write down your 12 seed words on multiple sheets of paper (or notecards) and put them in different locations. This will help if you ever lose one. Your seed words will allow you to restore your wallet if you ever lose or damage your device.
Downloading Litewallet on multiple Devices
Another thing that can be done is to backup your Litewallet digitally. Most likely you will have Litewallet on your main phone. You can also download Litewallet on additional phones, tablets, etc. You can use your 12 seed words (from the original) to have the same wallet (Litewallet) on multiple devices. You can also have your same wallet on android and iOS. When downloading Litewallet on an additional device you should see the option to duplicate your original. If one of your devices ever gets lost or broken, you will have another device that has Litewallet downloaded. A great backup.
Where to Find your Seed Words (Paper Key)
One last thing to note is that you can always re-access your 12 seed words. If you didn't write them down originally or lost them you can write them down again. How? by going to your Paper Key inside Litewallet. To access, please do the following: Menu>Security Center>Paper Key. This will take you through the steps of writing down your 12 seed words. AND remember to label them, years from now you may not remember the style/orientation of how you wrote down your seed words. Labeling them, eliminates this confusion.
